Great link FisherMOM. I use the "Unis" knot 99.999% of the time, I call it a "Duncan Loop" because that's what my knot-tying reference card called it.

I'll give the Palomar a try sometime, the reference card says it retains 90% line strength, as does the Unis knot.

Brought this back to the top as it is a great link and we are all heading into the busy fishing season of 2007.

Which is you favorite fishing line knot?

While we are on knots, how do you tie a mono leader to any of the "super lines" without slipping?

Though I think they do the palomar a little wrong. Don't leave the over loop on the hook. Pull the knot tight with the loop on the knot. The section on the hook will get too much abrasion if you leave it the way they have it. One more tip for tying knots. Put a little spit on your knot before you tighten it. The heat generated by the friction of tightening a knot can significantly weaken the line in the knot.

The palomar is the best knot I have ever used. Its easy to tie and has the highest knot strength. I can tie one with my eyes closed or in the dark if the need arises.

Those of you who havn't ever seen the trilene knot, its a sweet knot for when you need a loop.
