Who hunts the late season? Do you not hunt with a firearm to save yourself for the stick & string?

I May carry the bow for opening day of pa gun season . I know I maybe crazy but just dont get the same thrill of the hunt with firearms . Nothing like the adrenalin rush you get at archery close deer . I will carry the gun if the weather is bad .Also When we start the deer drives on Wednesday.
As for the real late season . Only if I still have a buck tag left . And only On days that are decent . I dont like hunting in sub zero weather

The late season is truly the quietest time in the woods. I am with you Treerat in the fact that I am not a zero degree hunter. But January hunting with a bow is a beautifully solitary time to be in the woods & on stand.

i am with treerat. the late season is way to cold. if it is warm i would probably think about going. here in ny muzzleloader and late season bow are the same week. i would rather hunt with the muzzleloader.

I'm looking forward to a little late season archery, a few soft pushes just to get them off their feet, and who knows, the Big Daddy could be out for a stroll!

I rarely make it out for late season. My hubby is trying to find a muzzleloader I can borrow, then maybe I will make it out. Usually too darn cold for my butt!

The late season muzzleloader is one of my favorites....deer are somewhat back to normal and the second rut comes in around that time. 2 years ago I got a nice buck, and last year missed one. See alot of does and I save at least one doe tag for that season.

I love late season archery. The later the better. Its often me and noone else out there.

I'm thinking I might pass on the late season with the bow. Lack of deer in 2F is the #1 reason but I am also thinking I might rather indulge in small gaming for a change.

I am fickle aren't I?

No deer tags so I'll be hunting coyotes!!!! Only ever went once with a buddy so I'll be learning something new. But I agree there's nothing like the silence of the late season on a fresh snow. Good luck.

Uncut corn is getting hammered, no tags....but if I had one that would be a good spot. saw deer below it today, lots of fresh tracks also. They'll be there next year. Good Luck if you get out again

Going to try to get out in the morning a few times this week . Will only have one afternoon this week .With the melt off I may be able to use some field roads so I wont have to walk in so far

I use the bow on rainy days after Xmas. Years of experience with the flinch-lock have lead me to discard the muzzle stuffer for reliabilty reasons. Lately, there seems to be as many rainy days after Xmas as before.

Have not taken a late archery deer yet though.

Well its over for me this season . Time to unscrew the broadheads :( I saw enough to know next season should provide lots of good bucks to be had .

gonna get my lil bro out tommorow evening. i have a hang on that i hunted once in rifle season but over the past week I found these two sheds and last night seen 9 deer by it and tonight i seen 3 deer underneath it so hopefully they come out tommorow to get some more food before the snow gets here.
Pics of the 2 sheds i found less than 20 yards apart.
