View Full Version : Stretching the ole string!

After fishing on Tuesday... Celeste and I came home and she dusted off her bow and arrow set. We had stuffed some garbage bags with leaves last fall and she never used them. So we set them up in the back yard and she practiced. It took her a few rounds before she got the hang of it. (she has 4 arrows, and only one has a tip) She started nailing the bags, then asked David if she could shoot at his empty beer can.
After a few misses... (ok, more than a few) she finally hit the can! She is loving that bow!
By the way, David put the can on top of the bags.. he did not, I repeat, did NOT hold it. :)

I don't know of any near me... and I think she'd LOVE IT! I will have to go to the local archery shop and see what I can learn. Bergen just got one a year ago (Archery shop)
I need to go get her some more arrows too!

See if your local shop has Gold Tip arrows. They have some good, inexpensive youth arrows. If not I could order some for ya from our local guy :) Just need to know what length she is shooting. In fact.. my son decided to grow -.- & all his arrows are too short now gah! If they are the right size for your lil lady, I will gladly send them your way for her :) Just let me know what draw length she is shooting

yikes.. draw length.. what is that. This is all new to me.
I guess I will take her ratty ole bow with me to the shop. The man that
owns it lives at the end of my road. Thanks for the "tip" on the Golden Tip arrows!

hehe sorry! Well one way to check is, usually on the bow there will be a label that has draw length & weight on it. If not you can just measure her arrows, nock to tip & that will give a close enough length for me :)

I can't complain about her bow. It was given to her by a guy selling tons of them at the NYS DEC this fall. They had a sportsman/conservation show there. I guess they do it every year. I see no stickers or carvings. (except an old $10 sticker!) :)
