I have been wanting to make my own bow for quite awhile now, but I guess I'm stalling on the type/length and other details. I wanna be able to hunt deer with it, so I guess a lil guidence would be good. How should I get started into it??

I've made a few bows and hunt with them, mainly use Osage. I've taken Deer, turkey, squirrel, pheasant, woodchuck, pig and am goin goose huntin this week !!
Get yourself the Bowers bible check out Traditional archer magazine, lots of good tips there.
Patience is the key to making a good bow, use a ok piece of wood for your first bow, then use a good piece.
This year i'm going to make a all wood crossbow.
