    It's that time of year again to plan to attend Pennsylvania's PREMIER Winter Festival!

    Warren County Winterfest will be held January 22-23-24. Location: Chapman State Park.

    Everything is FREE except for food & crafts vendors as well as entry into the "Jim Lobdell Memorial Sled Dog Races."

    YOU GET THE POINT!!! ALL EVENTS ARE FREE!!!!

    STRAP ON A SET AND TAKE "THE POLAR PLUNGE!" Collect 50 cents from all who will sponsor you for the "Polar Plunge." All monies go to "The Salvation Army."

    Last year 88 folks took "The Plunge." They dress up in weird costumes, they paint their bodies, lots of ladies in bikinis!



    This is a wonderful family winter event. I only mentioned 1/3 of the stuff that goes on at "Warren County Winterfest."

    This year an added special to the "Warren County Council of Sportsman's Clubs Ice Fishing Contest" will be sponsored by the "Warren County Chamber of Business & Industry's" tourism division.

    They will be stocking tagged fish with extra special prizes above and beyond the usual ton of prizes given away! To enter.....IT'S FREE!!!

      Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy...

      Longbow Man... Ninja Fisher... get the sled ready... drill patterns will be analysed.. soundings will be taken... hooks shall be sharpened... huts shall be erected... and chicken wings... chicken wings... chicken wings.. snow bunnies.. cold... very very cold ladies will be swimming... maybe even some stunt kite flying... I hope the wind is directly off the wing tent straight to my hut...

      a fish must die .. but hey, I already paid for it right?

      Def will be in the ice fishing tourney again this year. Already have a group of about 5 guys. Prolly will have more by game time to......The Winterfest is an awesome event, and i would recommend anyone here to try to attend....

      The wife already put in for a day off so we can make a long weekend out of it. Had a great time the last two years. Are they going to have fireworks this year Gary?

      Another great event for Warren County Winterfest!

      Grass Roots Racing Bi-Athalon.(Watch it HDE!) You run, you bike and you shoot. This is a group out of Pittsburgh. It is a 4 person team that competes. Anybody interested in getting into this competition or wants more details show call John Papalia of the W.C.C.B.I. at 814-723-3050.

      I can tell ya that this chubby little outdoorsman will not be running or biking in January!

      No there will not be fireworks. No sponsor willing to put up the $3,000 plus.

      Fishing Contest. There will be NO pre-registration. You may register starting at 8 am on Saturday & Sunday. The contest runs from 9am-3pm both days. Fish will have fins clipped once recorded.

      The W.C.C.B.I. will be placing some tagged fish into Chapman Dam to enhance the event. Each tagged fish will bear a prize.

      Gander Mountain will also be on hand again this year providing some excellent prizes for the "Ice Fishing Derby." They will also be displaying many ice fishing items and explaining their use.

      Details of the Grass Roots Racing & Ice Fishing Derby are still coming in and I will post when I have the final info.

      DON"T FORGET THE "CARDBOARD SLED RACES" ON SUNDAY! This is a hoot of an event! Sleds must be made of cardboard & duct tape ONLY. These folks build them to look like race cars, boats, outhouses and more. It is a classic event!

      I can't wait to eat some of them doughnuts that the doughnut makes fresh on site!

      I can't wait to eat some McNutter's wings from Lander PA.!

      So much food to eat, so little time.

      Maybe we all can get together and eat wings like we did last year. It was great to meet some of you last year. Maybe zenrider wont slip through the cracks again. I missed meeting him 2 years in a row!

      Maybe i can get back to winning this tournament again. Its been a while for the first place. Im sick of these 2nd and 3rd place finishes. what a great event to fish in other than you cant pre register. Why is this a problem to sign up before the tournament?

      I usually have all my holes drilled and rigs ready by the time I have to leave the ice and sign up. But hey, just tip them over beside the hole and go sign up. I don't like to get too far from the wings tent. The fish bite better if I can smell MCNUTTERS WINGS..

      I was expecting a big run on wings and made sure I got there in time just in case. I didn't want to have to eat my contest fish raw. I have a feeling there might be another demand surge that weekend. If you see an ice tent with a wall of chicken bones around it, that will be us..

      I am certainly up for a get together at the Mcnutter's wings location. We will be videoing that Saturday and I think a food shout out for Winterfest video would be cool.
