Pgc commissioner to visit warren county

On March 11th Pennsylvania Game Commissioner, Ralph Martone, will hold a public meeting at the Brokenstraw Fish & Game Club.

Meeting starts at 7:30 in the evening.

The man is coming to listen to hunters concerns. I would imagine deer & bear will be the hot topics.

You want to share your opinions? You better be there.

If that place ain't over flowing with hunters????......Then those who don't attend need to dummy up.

Please join me at this meeting. Thank the man for coming and listening. Share your opinions.

First I'll tell em thanks for AR..try an butter em up a bit! I do like AR.
Then tell em we need Sunday hunting legalized..
After that I'll tell em we need more liberal bear seasons..
I did see FAR less doe this season than I ever have so I'll suggest back to the county WMU system.

      Ask if he can deliver..
When he says he cant..I'll tell em to shove his license hike up his azz.

it should come as no suprise Why respond? if your area has been decimated and you respond you get pounded by those that love the plan. Yet those same hunters don’t hunt outside their posted ground. Why go to a PGC meeting will it change anything? No. does the PGC really need to hold a meeting to see how folks feel? come on the gap between those who are satisfied and those not is gigantic, and those that are unsatisfied have become so disgusted and disillusioned because every time they voice concern their met with hunt deeper, hunt harder, you want deer behind every tree, fewer doe but big bucks, scout more, or the latest catch phrase just change areas. These responses don’t solve a thing they only further widen the rift between those that are and those that are not seeing deer

Well said mikec. One of my biggest bones of contention is those that say "Hunt Harder!" Tell that to the 70 year old hunter/huntress who have paid their dues for many many years.

The bottom line here is that this PGC Commissioner is coming to our area to listen, learn and share.

To not fill the house at this meeting would be a travesty to say the least.

      Pro AR & Hr.

      Con AR & HR.

      Longer Bear seasons.

      Crossbows.

      Predators.

      License fees.

I could go on and on regarding the topics that might be discussed. I figure for the gentleman to cover all topics he would have to be here for a week!!!

Final bottom line. If you don't show up, unless work or family prevents it, then shut up!

Way too many who don't attend will gripe at me at the bar but guess what? I can't change a thing!

This is your opportunity to share your ideas & opinions with some one WHO CAN suggest changes.

I SHOUT OUT a HUGE THANK YOU to the PGC Commissioner for his planned visit here

So as long as you are happy, to heyl with everybody else huh? You should be supporting your fellow hunters. You may be needing them and their support in the near future!

I would like to see 2 week season for buck and 3 day for doe. ( rifle season)
      Bear season for 3 weeks.
Cut back a little for doe tags.
      Get Rid of AR!

Many people feel whats the point! Things will not change. They will not listen to what the hunters say anyway. There are alot of people who have stopped hunting in this area! My CAMP feels the affect every year. Its just hard to care any more. there is just to much good fishing to care about hunting. Im getting to be one of them.

I went to one of these a few years back. Those guys were lucky to get out alive. I do think it is a little too late for them to outreach at this point. They alienated there base and insulted the intelligence and knowledge of the everyday hunter. Most of those that have issues with herd size are soundly discouraged and have seen their efforts thwarted by both the PGC and their fellow hunters. I hope there is a good turn out, but that may be the folks that are pleased because those that are displeased have pretty much taken action into their own hands. They either don't participate at all, or they buy tags to save them or just quit taking does. I hope I can make it, but don't really expect to hear much different. They have a plan which I read and understand. The plan is settled for years to come. I cannot imagine what changes might be considered, because the points have been made and the plan addresses those concerns by negating our perceptions and staying the course. I have my plan, it works for me.

As of now i plan on going to this. Never been to a meeting like this and am kinda excited about how it will flow. As Zen stated in his comments about the guys barely making it out of the place, well i can see that happening at this meeting. Bottom line is just about every hunter i know is not real happy with the PGC these days myself included. Would love to see Sunday hunting here in P.A. and the lack of deer around these parts is getting old as well.

It is my hope that all will treat this man with respect. He is willing to visit here and listen & learn. Let us not look like a bunch of heathens.

I disagree with those who say nothing will be gained/accomplished by the newest PGC Commissioner.

I know this for sure, if just a few show up to discuss everything from small game to waterfowl to bear and yes deer, these folks will figure that you don't care what they do.

Do not attend this meeting with a chip on your shoulder. Attend with a desire to share & learn.

I once again and will continue to thank Mr. Martone for visiting & listening to our concerns. As well as sharing the PGC's information with us.

7:30 pm March 11th at the Brokenstraw Fish & Game Club. Be there, share or don't dare to complain!

Your reasoned & thoughtful participation DOES make a difference!

Show up or shut up! Here is your chance to be heard, if you attack him he won't hear you. If you approach him with respect and are ready to comminucate you might make some progress. I wish you all well especially when it comes to getting Sunday Hunting approved.

I was shocked at how few people actually showed up to a similar meeting held in Randolph NY last fall by our DEC folks, I went and I got some good information and a better understanding. I encourage you PA guys to show up.

Ralph Martone is a good guy. In sharing communications with him since his inception as a commissioner, I think he will be on the leading edge of turning this deer management program around. These changes won't happen overnight. Treat him with respect and dignity. He is there for us.

Exactly Treerat! Changes have been made to the benefit of hunters. Nothing will change if we sit on the sidelines.

I would also be most interested in hearing suggestion on what changes can/should be made regarding predators. They are thumping the fawns in the spring, big time.

As to Sunday hunting I also would love it. But that is not a PGC decision that is a legislative decision. O how happy I would be if it were a PGC decision.

Again kudos to Mr. Martone for visiting with us in March. I hope we all join the conversation with open minds and a willingness to discuss the issues.

I expect quite a large crowd at this meeting.

People if you are screamed at by another do you listen??????? no you go on the defensive. So with that in mind try and communicate your ideas in a reasonable manner. Screaming and yelling will not let you get your point across.
