After fishing a whole season and part of another in the MWC I came to realize that just placing at an MWC event is an accomplishment, pulling off team of the year as Matt and Dan did is huge! You fish no matter the conditions...rain, snow, bad seas, bad bites, sick... and then you do it against the top walleye guys in North America.

    Congrats Matt and Dan
    also
Congrats Alan on 6 years of qualifying and doing that with several different fishing partners.

Mike, I saw the flying fishing rods last year. I had to catch a couple as they were headed overboard.

    Thanks Fred

It wasn't easy I can tell you that! Would’ve had 2 East Team of The Year titles too, but let Tim and Doug slip one by me for their first title in the East. Lol They earned it for sure, and it seems they have become a contender in every tournament recently. They are becoming very hard to beat and are an excellent team.

I have fished against Matt and Dan for many years. I remember the early days of the MWC East when Matt and Dan were still green, though Matt will never admit it, and made amateur mistakes in their tournament strategies. I can honestly tell you they are now one of the elite teams in the East, if there is such a thing. They are as professional a team as one can be, and it showed this year. Jeff and I chased them in the points all year, and they did not make a single mistake all year. Their hard work and dedication allowed them to be in the position to win when opportunity and luck appeared. Many times during tournaments, several teams will be on the winning fish, and sometimes fishing right on top of each other. That’s where hard work, dedication, opportunity and luck wins you titles. When these things come together you can’t be beat!

Have you ever fished a tournament where you and others were on good fish? But at the weigh-in, the other teams on your spot beat you with a couple of big baskets. Now you know why. That's how good Matt, Dan, Tim, Doug and some of the other MWC teams have become.

Sorry Gary!! It may be a long year for you. lol

Good Luck to all fishing the MWC this year. I'm going to miss it.

    Alan

Even if it is a long year it will be a fun year. Hoff and I are in to win but I know that it takes a combination of skill and a little luck to win.

    The one that got away.

If we would have fished this spot instead of that spot.

Finding the "Spot on the spot!"

I have also fished tournaments where boats that were 20 - 30 feet away were not catching fish when we were putting them in the box.

Many times it is enough to make your head spin!!!

That is why I always give kudos to those who place in the money as well as kudos to those that spend the time & money to take the shot.

This year Hoff & I are going to take the shot. Let's hope we can put some fish in the crosshairs.

We can only hope that we fish as well as Matt & Dan, Doug & Tim. We will do our best to represent Alan & Jeff, Charlie & Tim, Gilligan & eyedoktr and all who have represented the outstanding anglers of the East.

We follow in the footsteps of some very fine anglers. We will do our best to not disappoint you.

Mike, I actually saw a custom painted stick bait painted like a banana. Might order one for Gary.

You better get use to them Gary, went to the doctor last week, guess I have a slight vitamin problem and lack there of in my system.
No pills and junk for this fat guy, I like food way to much. anyway these tasty morsels they happen to be at the top of the list given to me to be eaten frequently.
Needless to say they'll be part of my lunches on the boat when we are fishing.

    Hoff,

I would put the bannana's threw the food proccessor till soupy. Place the msses stocking in a 5 gallon pail. Then fill the misses stocking with it, then poor 4 bottles of grey goose in, and let marinate for a couple days. Lift up on stocking allowing the New and Improved Grey Goose to filter out threw the stocking.

Take Gary out for a Strategy meeting a couple days ahead of time, and start him on the "New" Grey Goose. By the time the tourney gets there, Gary will be begging for some of the new stuff.

You will get what you need physically, he will get what he needs mentally, and together after the 4 bottles, you won't care how many fish you caught, and when you get home, you will be able to tell the misses how you thoughtg about her the entire trip, and it wouldn't be a lie!!!

Would love to fish all the tournaments around, FLW and MWC, but this year is looking like I will not be fishing them. All my time is put towards running my circuits for every one else to be able to fish.

Maybe next year, unless something changes.

Got to finally have a sit down with Gary last night. Sorry for all the hype of Gary and I going on tour this year. My employer whos name will stay anonomous here on the sight informed the day before my last post that the end of May through June 20th my life is cancelled as far as time off!!!!. this just happens to coenside with with the Sandusky event of the MWC. Heck I won't even get any prefishing done for the DAv the week before. This is the 2nd time I've attempted this sort of thing and it went bust. Maybe not meant to be or there's a higher force at work making me hold back and wait for the perfect season to do what I want.
All in all now I'm back to full vacation time with the 3 1/2 weeks that were to be used here, what do I do?
One of these years Gary, I promise.
