Although not confirmed, this is probably a world record whitetail deer.... supposedly shot this fall in northwestern Ontario and weighing 440 lbs. before being field dressed

last I heard it was shot in maine so im not shure if its true or not,
I saw this on another site. They searched it and found it was shot on a high fenced property. It was basically a pen fed deer. Here is the site from that ranch. You can see the picture in the photo gallery. http://wildernesswhitetails.com/ Just click on Trophy Gallery and he is the 4th row down and 3rd picture over. If anyone has an extra 10 grand laying around you can get one just like that.

Looks fake to me.Will point out a few things after a few more replies from others.
Yep what the hell are they feeding these deer? Look at some of the 2 year olds they have .
Yeah its pretty amazing. A friend of mine runs a deer farm in Warren and its unbelievable how big they get at young ages.
Its no big deal if someone wants to hunt in a high fenced area. But why do others try and play it off like its a wild deer. If someone actually ever shoots a world record deer or a 400lb deer, no one will ever believe them.
they're fenced in freaks of nature!
genetically engineered FREAKS!
no thanks for me...Id rather kill a 100" buck in western NY than pay any amount of money to kill a fenced in pet deer
here's a quote from their page about the Genetics they are raising
"The Flees Family has been working hard on whitetail genetics since the early 1980’s. In 1988, our first buck scoring over 200" was born. Since then more than 350 bucks scoring over 200 have been born and raised at Wilderness Game Farm. Many of these bucks went over the 250" mark. In 2002, we hit the 300” mark for the first time with Bucky (312 6/and Heavy (304 6/
. In 2003, Bucky scored 331 6/8. In 2008 we reached the 400 inch mark with Rocky 404 and Sudden Impact 406. In 2009 Sudden Impact scored 492 as a 3 year old!"

I agree TST,
I would rather shoot a decent NY buck than anything. I feel that we have some of the best and most challenging hunting in around. Some people just have more money than they know what to do with.
Had a recent discussio about this stuff when that local yahoo tried to pass off the sheds as a new World Record. I have met that guy and the very second I looked at his first supposed record book bucks picture I called BS. I took all kinds of grief then but looks like it may have been bs.
There is a guy over in Randolph that has deer around 300" i'm told.
Anyway. Wait until the first one of these bucks escape from the pen and are shot during season. Then what. Deer was actually taken free range with all the proper equipment in the proper season. What happens? New world record? You know it's only a matter of time.
Its a pen buck I saw the artical or 2 months ago about it.
It is a hog...no matter where it is.
I would never want to pay to shoot a fenced in deer. It's like you get to pick out of a group and you walk upto that deer. Too much money to waste in my opinion

A few years ago a guy I know show a huge 9 pt with a ton of mass and a heavy body. He called me to track it for him after dark and we found it about 100 yards away from where he shot it. We didn't notice the red tag in its ear until we got it hung up and the hide pulled down. Turns out it escaped from a private fence several miles away. It was the biggest deer the guy had shot in his life. We estimated the live weight over 250#. Even gutted it straightened out one of the large screw in hooks in a matter of seconds and took two of us to lift on while another pulled the rope to tie it off. Even though he shot it 100% fair chase from his stand on public land, he doesn't even talk about that season. It wasn't his fault he shot a "tame deer", but he knows others will give him crap about it. I'm not sure how he handled things with the owners or the pgc about the tag, but I know he doesn't have the rack on the wall with his other ones.

Alright who wants to see the Randolph MONSTER. I'll post the pics. I took of it. But thats it.
Would like to see the pictures.
Sore subject?
And no, I would not want to hunt a caged deer...no matter how I got it. It is no sport involved...it's not hunting.
