KVD is simply amazing. A couple of things stood out to me during that broadcast. First was Zona Said KVD told him 3 months ago that he had that spot figured out and what bait he would use to catch them there. He also called Kreit a dragger and that he fishes way to slow in his opinion. He said he watched him take 15 minutes to fish a dock and that he could never do that. Def makes you think about how you approach a tournament. There have been tournaments when they were approaching I would think I can win it or do well by fishing this way in this area. I practice there for a few minutes without success and abandon that pattern and don't finish well. You said it well in another post that the fish up here live in certain area's and wind or other conditions probably don't send them across the lake. So you have to commit to making the fish you have bite. I can't wait for the ice to go!

i havn't fished a tournament since moving up here. I think this will be the year. not sure which ones yet. Are they still guaranteeing 5 k for the winner of the weekend series ? Last year I had days where my best 5 would have pushed 24-25 pounds and I think thats what it takes at certain times to win on Chautauqua. I don't have a partner right now to sign up with so i may just fish a few of the open events they have here. I wish they would have a weekly wens or thursday evening tourney here. I fished a lot of those in wv. they were a lot of fun. ussually around 20 boats 25 bucks a boat. fish from 5 till 10 and weigh your best 5. the winner would get 300 second place would be 100 and 100 for big fish or something like that. Have you heard of any like this?

You Got a third bass guy here. Fish alot of tournaments and fish for bass 90% of the time. Only fish for Walleye or crappie a couple of times a year when I want some fish in the freezer. Don't get a chance to post alot in the winter do to my sons sport.

rob they are only guaranteeing 5,000 if there is atleast a 100 boat field, and I seriously doubt that will happen. The most they have had the last few years here is around 50-55 so 100 would be a big jump and I just don't think it will happen. I have often thought of how much fun a weekday evening tourney would be, but I think I live too far from Chaut. to make it even if someone started them up. There are thursday night tourneys on Presque Isle all summer , and I hear they are a good time. I wish someone on Kinzua would do it but probably won't happen there either.

I met a guy @ the weigh in of the first BFL @ chautauqua last year that told me about the presque isle weekly's. If i had the weigh in equipment I would start it out of mayville or something. I wonder how many boats we could get? I think i may look into joining a club this year.
