    Default TROUT TAX IN PENNSYLVANIA!!!

A little birdie flew in my ear this morning and told me that Gov. Rendell was planning a tax on Trout. What's up with that???

Great idea, let's tax the State fish!!!

    Any body hear about this?

Those lazy trout been getting a free ride for too long. It is about time they had to pay their fair share.

At the risk of starting a fight, I hope all you PA Pheasant Stamp supporters are paying attention here. First it was a stamp, now rumor of a tax. They take, take, take and take no matter what you give willingly. I hope ya'll get your stamp lol. I quit fishing when I couldn't take the kids out and them catch trout during the stocking season unless I kept them home from school to beat the retired folks and jobless folks to the stream. I'm not trying to be down on those groups. I'm just more about the kids having fun than I am in the adults catching fish. I certainly hope this is nothing more than a rumor. I waste enough money just so I can "touch the rod" if my kids get snagged.

um there are plenty of places to get away from the croud to take kids to catch wild and holdover trout tbass. no need to take the kids to fish for fresh stocked dogpoopooo trout with the the frenzied crowd...

Near me I only know of Class A minnow streams. The kids love fishing though so I do what I can.

The state raises license fees, adds a Lake Erie Stamp, re-instutes the Trout stamp to raise money. Now a tax on trout, it is going to be cheaper in the near future to go and hire a guide out of state than to fish in your home state.

I don't understand what Gary means. Is there going to be tax on a trout stamp? I am uncertain if I pay sales tax even now on my PA Fishing License. I don't have my receipt and afraid I never bothered to notice. I just figured everything was taxed. Does not seem like they would tax just the trout stamp. If they add a tax it will be sales tax on the full purchase. Why miss out on the larger tax just to tax the meager trout stamp fee? PFBC won't let this happen. If they only taxed the trout or Erie stamps, that would repel folks from adding those to the license. So they will just tax the whole deal. And we will beyatch and pay because we want to go fishing.

I had'nt heard this one til now- I'm not sure what/how this could be. Did'nt find anything about this elsewhere. How would this work? Put a cashier on every stream and make sure each and every trout that gets checkedout has the tax paid on it? Maybe an express lane for guys that only want to keep 1 or 2 trout? What about the guys that throw 'em all back- they get a rebate or something? Come on, be real!!!! But if anyone could find a way to do it, that dumb SOB could!!!!
