    Default SIG 250........

Been out about a year now, modular as in being able to purchase barrel kits to convert it to another caliber (9mm/.40SW/45ACP). Barrel kits run $350ish.

Built a lot like a Glock as in polymer frame and steel slide. The SA only 250 comes with ambidextrous slide release and a left/right convertable mag release. Quick drop away mags. Comes in sub compact, medium frame, and large frame. Mags for all three profiles interchange.

    Nice rig.........

One of my gun guys made me a deal I'm finding VERY VERY hard to walk away from.

9mm full size 250 AND a subcompact 250 frame/slide/barrel in a combo deal, for NOT much more than the price of just the full size pistol alone.

Basically two handguns for the price of one. All one needs to do to switch from the full size to the subcompact is push out a pin, lift out the firing module/trigger, then insert same in the subcompact, replace pin and slam home a mag.

    Like, stupid easy.............

It's an interesting concept. For what ever reason I like the Glocks. I really want to get my hands on a 4th generation 23 before I commit on another.

The 250 itself is an, as yet, unproven platform.

However, the basic SIG that it's based on is one of the very best out there, and I've never owned, shot, or even heard of a bad SIG. Their service, though it's rarely ever needed is superb, the pistols normally amazingly accurate, and durable. They are Swiss built, and like their watches, an intricate, hard to work on, but hard to break, lifetime purchase.

You could have done FAR worse, Bro.

Gonna be fun breaking that one in, to be sure.

A status of "unproven" is yet, well, unproven.....

The gun guys I've talked to so far have reported that no negative opinions have come back on the 250, which speaks for itself.

That the 250 is built like a tank, and of simple design, is a win/win.

Glocks were unproven once, as well.............

No doubt, and no disagreement. It just doesn't have the track record, yet, though if I was going to bet on one, it'd be a SIG, for the reasons stated.

Once you start running that SIG, you'll dump that M9 like the abortion it is. Did I mention I loathe those things?

The University Police here on campus carry a Sig .45.

They love them. I have spoken with a few of them who, on other LEO jobs, carried Berettas, Glocks, etc. They said that the Sig is much nicer than anything they have carried.

You'll fall in love with the 229. We run the .357 Sig in DAK on the street and have .40 barrels for general shooting at the indoor range (they won't allow us to run our standard ammo due to velocity). I haven't met a Sig yet I didn't like.

I'd offer you mine but it would most likely get me in some trouble.

As long as you are going to the course anyway, see what you can pick up regarding the 250.....

Ditto why I jumped on the Colt M4 deal I lucked into. Having a pard you can bounce ideas off of, and know the quality of the answer, goes a LONG way.

I consider myself very fortunate to count quite a few of those, with D, WW, ET, KL, and others among them.

That such feeling is occasionally mutual, shows I'm better at bluffing that some give me credit for...
